In the Vineyards Winter 2016

We are now halfway through June 2016 - the vines are dormant and the pruning is well under way.  I have the greatest respect for the people who are out there in freezing temperatures day after day.  All jobs are important in the vineyard particulary pruning, apart from the temperatures it is physical and vital you know what you are doing!

This is the time of year where owners, and operators, take a much well deserved break and holiday and often head to warmer climates.........!!

The seasonal workers who came in their 100s have left - and the next influx will be spring of this year.  I hope we have more accommodation available, although not an overnight fix there certainly is a shortage as there is through out New Zealand.

Finally, I suggest to those who are looking to come here and work the seasonal typically runs from early November through to late April.  My suggestion would be to go through seasonal solutions www.ssco.co.nz  and or winejobsonline.co.nz and dont forget to book your accommodation well in advance!

  2. You could definitely see your expertise in the work you write. The sector hopes for even more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to say how they believe.
