Another very successful Alexandra Basin new release wine tasting was held on Sunday over labour weekend. Fantastic wines, turn out and great time had by all visitors!
Leading the wines is Pinot Noir, the wine that put Central Otago on the world map, however lets not forget the stunning Rieslings that are also produced from this region, Riesling is not a fashionable variety, but I am loving what is been produced here. I have great admiration and respect for these small producers, as many of the winery owners are working day jobs as well to fund and support their passion of producing exceptional wines in all conditions. I have lost count of the times I have had people say to me how much they would love to to have a vineyard, it is a great life, however it is a lot of hard work as well, but the effort is worth it. If you didn t get to the festival you can go online and purchase, many wines from the Alexandra are not as visible through our retail outlets nationally, however all are available on line;
